Inspired By California – Remarkable, Cities and Towns Portrait Series
“Inspired by California” started in 2010 as a documentary film that took me a year and a half to complete. The film examined what is great about this State by asking Californians “what inspires you about California?”. The film premiered at the 2011 Santa Cruz Film Festival and has gone on to travel the State and has set me on a journey to continue to examine the best of California.
As a Film Maker and illustrator I am taking the next 2 years to illustrate portraits of towns and cities that embody the best of the spirit of California. Over the next 5 months I will be producing 6 portraits, the first of 18 remarkable California Cities and Towns, Santa Cruz, Carmel, Napa, Santa Barbara, Long Beach, Sacramento and the State and will complete the remaining 12 portraits by 2014.
The Santa Cruz portrait which has just been released in May has been met with great success and shown me how much people care about this incredible place.
